Annual Exams and Vaccinations PDF Print E-mail
It is important that your pet receive a yearly to biyearly physical exam by your veterinarian. At Kinzua Vet Clinic it is our policy to vaccinate healthy adult dogs with the DA2PP +/- Cv (distemper virus, adenovirus, parainfluenza virus, parvo virus, corona virus) vaccine and rabies vaccine every 3 years. Your veterinarian will help you determine when your animal needs a booster based on history of previous vaccines and risk of disease. We also recommend vaccinating healthy adult cats every 3 years with the FVRCP and rabies vaccines. Owners of outdoor cats are encouraged to vaccinate for feline leukemia virus (FeLV). We also offer the intranasal bordetella vaccine to help prevent upper respiratory infections and we do carry the vaccine for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Pennsylvania state law requires that all pet cats and dogs be vaccinated for rabies. If your pet bites someone and is not vaccinated for rabies or is not up to date on its vaccine, they have the right to have your pet euthanized and tested for rabies.
